D. Carlos Lee is the new operator of D.C. Lee Insurance Agency, 3981 S. 700 East. Lee has more than 17 years of experience in corporate marketing and sales. A native of Hong Kong, Lee is a graduate of Brigham Young University-Hawaii and BYU-Provo. Prior to establishing his own agency, Lee served as senior vice president of marketing for a firm in Virginia.
David A. Brewer has joined Fairbanks Capital Corp. as vice president of servicing administration. Brewer will be responsible for overseeing the bank's escrow administration, document control, file facilities, special loans and loan reconciliation departments. Prior to joining Fairbanks Capital, Brewer was an independent mortgage banking consultant. He is a graduate of Clarion University in Pennsylvania.
Harmons Grocery Stores announced the appointment of several new store directors. Mark Jensen was appointed director of the new Draper store, 11400 S. 700 East. He formerly served as director of the company's Roy store. Dave Abbott, former director of the Ogden store, is the new director of the Roy Harmons. Rae Tafoya, who previously directed the West Valley Harmons, is the new director of the Ogden store. Jerry Hutchins is the director of the West Valley Harmons. He most recently served as the grocery manager at the South Jordan Harmons. Wes Visher is the new store director for the South Jordan Harmons. He was formerly the grocery manager at the company's Bennion store. Harmons operates 10 stores throughout Utah.
The Salt Lake City law firm of Parsons Behle & Latimer announced that four new associates have joined the firm. Joseph L. Broom joined the firm's corporate, tax and technology department. He received his law degree from the University of Utah College of Law. He also holds a law degree from the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law. Ryan L. Marshall also is a member of the corporate, tax and technology department. He holds three degrees from BYU — an undergraduate degree in chemistry and graduate degrees in law and chemistry. Douglas J. Bucklin practices intellectual property law relating to biotechnology. He graduated from the U. College of Law and earned a Ph.D. from the University of Montana, where he studied biochemistry and microbiology. Jed K. Burton practices real property law. He received his law degree from BYU. Prior to law school, Burton worked for real estate brokerage, appraisal and development companies.
Sharon Keller was promoted to office manager at Excel Cosmetic Surgery Center in Provo. She has more than 20 years of medical experience and is a certified operating room technician.
Crestview Care Center announced two staff additions. Timothy D. Anderson was appointed director of rehabilitation at Crestview's skilled nursing facility in Provo. Anderson graduated from BYU in exercise science and earned a graduate degree in physical therapy from Idaho State University. Carolyn Morrison was named Crestview's director of nursing. She has more than 27 years of experience in hospitals, home health care and skilled nursing facilities.
Daniel Dorn was named business development manager for Group Voyagers Inc., the Colorado-based company that sells Globus and Cosmos tours in the United States. Dorn will be responsible for travel agency sales and marketing for Utah and six other Western states. He is a graduate of Colorado State University.
Forthgear, a corporate brand management firm, recently named Shawn Carrigan as sales executive. Prior to joining Forthgear, Carrigan was the outside sales manager for a cellular phone provider. He is a graduate of Weber State University.
Vector Marketing has named four new district managers at its Utah locations. Christopher Gallagher was promoted from branch manager to district manager of the company's Salt Lake City South region. Jeremy Miller will manage the company's Salt Lake City North operations. He also has served as a sales manager and assistant district manager. Becky Holmstead was promoted from branch manager to district manager at the Logan office. Jessie Maynard also was promoted from branch manager to district manager. She will lead Vector's Ogden operations.
Mark V. Anderson has been named vice president and general manager of mining and concentrating for Kennecott Utah Copper Corp. Anderson is a graduate of the U., where he earned his undergraduate degree, as well as master's degrees in engineering and business administration.
Tomax Corp., a computer software company based in Salt Lake City, has named Ken Pink as vice president of solutions development. Pink recently served as chief information officer for a Utah-based chain of grocery stores. He also served as software development manager at a Fortune 500 food distribution and retail organization.
Salt Lake-based Cognetix Inc. announced two staff promotions. Carl L. Roland was promoted to vice president of clinical development. Roland received his doctor of pharmacy degree at the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy and completed a two-year fellowship in clinical research and drug development at the University of North Carolina. Vicki E. Farrar was named vice president of intellectual property. Farrar, an attorney, has been engaged in private practice since 1977, focusing primarily on intellectual property litigation. She received her law degree from Wayne State University in Michigan.
Lynn Muirbrook, North Ogden City mayor, has joined Keller Williams Success Realty as principal broker. Muirbrook has been a real estate broker for 25 years. He is a graduate of the Real Estate Institute.
