Eight new mission presidents, called by the First Presidency, have been announced. The new leaders and their wives will begin service about July 1; their assignments will be announced later. The new leaders and their wives are:

Danel W. Bachman, 58, Logan 33rd Ward, Logan Utah East Stake; instructor at Logan, Utah, Institute; patriarch, former stake mission president, high councilor, bishop and bishop's counselor. Born in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Wayne Goddard and Anita Evelyn Cottle Bachman. Married Patricia Mae Olsen, four children.

A gospel doctrine teacher, she served as stake Relief Society president's counselor, ward Relief Society president, and counselor in Primary and Young Women presidencies. She was born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to Cecil Ray and Ruth Ames Olsen.

Steven L. Driscoll, 55, Sun City West Branch, Peoria Arizona North Stake; retired manager of radiological protection department; former stake president and counselor, high councilor, stake and ward Young Men president and bishop. Born in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Leonard James and Alice Myrtle Clark Driscoll. Married Nadine Thurston, four children.

A humanitarian service specialist, she is a former stake Relief Society president's counselor, stake Young Women secretary, ward Young Women president and seminary teacher. She was born in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Marvin Le- Grand and Edna Diane Koompin Thurston.

David M. Fewster, 48, Mueller Park 4th Ward, Bountiful Utah Mueller Park Stake; executive director of the Church's Olympic Coordinating Committee; high councilor, former mission president's counselor, stake mission president, stake executive secretary and branch president. Born in Beverley, England, to Dennis Weston and Elizabeth Minnie Pashby Fewster. Married Kathleen Fountain, six children.

A Primary teacher, she is a former ward Relief Society and Young Women president, district missionary and seminary teacher. She was born in Hull, England, to Fred and Kathleen Johnson Fountain.

John Laurence Manwaring, 62, Warrenton 1st Ward, Ashburn Virginia Stake; ear, nose and throat surgeon; high councilor, former bishop and counselor, branch president and institute teacher. Born in Washington, D.C, to Hyrum Laurence and Bernice Jacobs Manwaring. Married Madeline Louise Smith, three children.

A stake Relief Society president, she is a former stake missionary, and a gospel doctrine, Primary and Relief Society teacher; administrator of a medical practice. She was born in Eureka, Calif., to Charles Foster and Ruby Sophie Cox Smith.

David C. Marriott, 58, Valley View 8th Ward, Salt Lake Holladay North Stake; president and owner of Spectra Symbol Corp.; stake mission president, former counselor in stake presidency, bishop and bishop's counselor, and priests quorum adviser. Born in Washington, D.C., to Woodrow Duane and Judith Cannon Marriott. Married Evelyn Neill Foote, 11 children.

A Young Women adviser, she is a former Sunday School teacher, stake Relief Society president, and ward Relief Society and Primary president. She was born in Alexandria, La., to George Messenger and Antonia Voelker Foote.

Maynard Robert Olsen, 54, Park 6th Ward, Orem Utah Park Stake; physician; high priests group leader assistant, former stake Young Men president, high councilor, bishop and Scoutmaster. Born in San Diego, Calif., to Eugene Foss and Rae Stephens Jones Olsen. Married Sally Ann Fitzgerald, 12 children.

A ward Primary president, she has served as Sunday School and Relief Society teacher, stake missionary and Young Women adviser. She was born in San Diego, Calif., to Jay Sheldon and Lacy Leone Burgi Fitzgerald.

L. Richard Williams, 42, Camelhead Ward, Scottsdale Arizona Camelback Stake; partner/attorney; early morning seminary teacher, former counselor in ward and stake Young Men presidency, gospel doctrine teacher and ward executive secretary. Born in Montreal, Quebec, to Lowell Leavitt and Helen Tanner Beaton Williams. Married Sharon Cook, three children.

A counselor in the ward Young Women's presidency, she is a former Relief Society teacher, Primary president, counselor and in-service instructor. She was born in Newport Beach, Calif., to Richard Ernest and Clea Cook.
