Question: I was surprised at the end of "Stephen King's Rose Red" to see a memoriam to David Dukes, who played professor Carl Miller in that TV film. How and when did he die? — V.A., via e-mail
Answer: Dukes, 55, died of an apparent heart attack in October 2000 while filming the Stephen King miniseries. The actor had a varied career appearing in theater, film and TV roles including "Gods and Monsters," "The Josephine Baker Story," "The Winds of War" and its the sequel, "War and Remembrance." Early in his career, Dukes played a would-be rapist who threatened Edith Bunker on "All in the Family." He also appeared on "Dawson's Creek" for two seasons in the recurring role of Joseph McPhee.
Question: We very much enjoyed Greta Van Susteren and Roger Cossack on CNN's "Burden of Proof." They have disappeared. Also, Greta Van Susteren was on "The Point," also on CNN. "The Point" is still on the air, but she has disappeared as the host. Do you know what happened to them? — H.P., Las Vegas, Nev.
Answer: After 10 years with CNN, legal analyst Greta Van Susteren has joined the Fox News Channel to host "On the Record." "Burden of Proof," the afternoon show she co-hosted with Cossack, disappeared after Sept. 11 when CNN began round-the-clock news coverage of the terrorist attacks. Cossack was fired by CNN late last year. Van Susteren's defection to Fox is one of the latest in the hiring battle between the two cable news channels. In recent months CNN has signed Paula Zahn from FNC and Connie Chung from ABC. Keith Olberman, formerly of Fox, is filling in on "The Point."
