YAP ISLANDS — Two member homes were destroyed and two others were seriously damaged when a cyclone struck the Yap Islands, located 500 miles southwest of Guam, March 8. During the disaster, high tides, 10-inch rains and winds up to 115 mph caused extensive damage on the eastern side of the main island. No deaths, however, were reported.
