- Shirley Lavor Larsen passed away at the age of 83 Thursday, April 4, 2002 at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City.

'Shirl' as he was called by his family and friends, was born Jan 4, 1919 in Spring City, UT to William Lavor and Ivadene Anderson Larsen. He was raised in Garland, UT and graduated from Bear River High School in Tremonton. He proudly served our nation in the United States Army during World War II. On Dec 19, 1945 he married his sweetheart, Ellen Astle in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He retired from Hill Air Force Base in Feb 1975. He enjoyed his horses and loved hunting season to spend time with his son and brothers. He loved his family dearly and his grandchildren were special to him.

He was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a member of the Kaysville 9th Ward and served in various callings during his lifetime. He helped support grandsons, nephews, and neighbors who served on missions.

Shirl is survived by his wife, Ellen; daughters, Sandra (E. Craig) Goaslind, Bountiful, Camille (H. Lynn) Galbraith, Kaysville, Annette (Eldon) Hardy, Las Vegas, NV, Scott (Gina) Larsen, South Weber; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Faunice Laub, Edythe Smith; and brothers, Farrell Larsen, Rodney Larsen. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Boyd; and sister, Lula.

Services will be Tues. April 9, 2002, 11 a.m., Kaysville East Stake Center, 201 S. 600 E, Kaysville, UT. Family and friends may call at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main, Kaysville, Mon. April 8, 2002, 6-8 p.m. and Tues. 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
