Sherman C. Ray returned to the loving arms of his Father in Heaven May 16, 2002, holding his sweetheart's hand in death as he did in life. He was surrounded by a loving family.

Husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served on the high council in the Sugar Hill Stake, Atlanta, GA and Green Valley Stake, Henderson, NV. He was a High Priest Group Leader, Elder's Quorum president, Stake Young Men's Board, Sunday School Board, teacher, ward mission leader, stake missionary (three times), and served as an ordnance worker in the Los Angeles, CA, Oakland, CA, Atlanta, GA, Las Vegas, NV, and Bountiful, Utah Temples. Loved to sing in ward and stake choirs. Music brought great joy and happiness to him. The great loves in his life were his wife, June, family, and many friends. Loved to be in the beautiful mountains in Utah and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and camper.
