Our dear husband, father, papa and friend passed away at home, returning to his heavenly home on July 16, 2002, following a long struggle with a series of illnesses.

Darrell was born on July 7th, 1925 in Thatcher, Utah, to Harvey Ezra Didericksen and Lula Petersen. Cherished memories of his early years was working together with his brothers on the farm, to help the family during those hard times everybody knew. He attended Bear River High where he met his "pretty little red-headed girl" Colleen Thompson. Darrell joined the United States Air Force where he was trained and earned his wings as a fighter pilot. Following the close of World War II, Darrell and Colleen were married Sept. 9, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They moved to and made their home Grantsville, Utah in 1950. Darrell worked hard in construction throughout his life, owning his own company for many years. He loved to see the heavy equipment at work. Darrell's joy centered around his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grand-children. He loved attending their sports activities and followed their teams all over the state of Utah to support them. Those who knew Darrell know him as a generous, selfless, honest and forgiving man.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his five brothers. He is survived by his sister Larene (LaRall) Thompson, wife Colleen, three sons Jim, Jeff, and Michael (Gail), and two daughters Debbie (Steve) Dana, Michelle, 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at The Grants ville 9th ward Chapel, 415 W.
