The Wisconsin-based financial services organization formerly known as Aid Association for Lutherans/Lutheran Brotherhood has been given permission by the state of Utah to use its new, member-approved name, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
The change took effect July 1, six months after Aid Association for Lutherans, based in Appleton, Wis., and Minneapolis-based Lutheran Brotherhood merged to form a $59 billion organization.
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has nearly 3 million members and has $147.5 billion of life insurance in force. It has 3,576 corporate employees and 3,617 field members.
The organization's members form volunteer groups called "branches" that perform outreach and fund-raising activities in communities throughout the country. There are 1,772 branches.
Thrivent Financial and its affiliates offer a variety of insurance, investment and banking opportunities to nearly 3 million members nationwide.
