1918 ~
2003
Grace Denton Day, born on March 25, 1918, died on December 4, 2003 in Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 85.
She was the daughter of Jack C. Denton and Rachel Larson Denton.
She is survived by three sons: John D. Day (Sue) of Yerington, NV; Robert A. Day of Salt Lake City; David Day (Dot) of Langley, WA; five grandchildren; seven great-grand children; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack C. Denton of Davidson, NC.
Grace was married to George W. Jenkins, and then later to C. Nelson Day. She graduated from East High School and twice from the University of Utah. Grace was a multi-talented lady; a gifted artist, model, dancer, musician, vocalist, skier and bridge player. She was an admired school teacher in the Granite School District for 16 years. Then she pursued her exceptional calling in portrait painting and was featured in many art shows around the state. She also volunteered at Cottonwood Hospital for 20 years. She had a wonderful sense of humor and many dear friends. She loved her family more than anything. Surprisingly, in the last year of her life, she and George Jenkins rekindled their earlier love affair. She will be sorrowfully missed. A special thanks to the caring staff of Federal Heights Rehab Center.
