LAYTON — Science Applications International Corp. on Wednesday said it has acquired certain assets of Scientech Inc. that comprise its Department of Defense Engineering Business Segment.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The Ogden-based business unit performs engineering and technical services for the Defense Department. The move expands SAIC's presence in Ogden, enhancing SAIC's services to the Air Force Materiel Command customers at Hill Air Force Base.

Some employees of Scientech's Ogden-based operations become part of a newly created SAIC division reporting to SAIC's Logistics and Engineering Solutions Group. That division performs sustaining engineering and logistics services for the Ogden and Warner Robins Air Logistics Centers and other Defense Department customers.
