Obituary: Robert Hunsaker


Robert (Bob) "M" Hunsaker, born to Oscar Fitzallen and Sussanna M. Hunsaker February 9, 1927, joined his Heavenly Father on March 11, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Preceded in death by his mother and father and his beloved granddaughter, Christian Marie Hunsaker.

Married Raema Day Hunsaker, June 28, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Blessed with four children, Rodney Day Hunsaker (Verlene), Robert (Bert) M Hunsaker jr. (Liz), Raymond Dee Hunsaker (Dianne), and Judy Kay Hunsaker Floyd (Farren).

Bob's crown jewels and major accomplishment were his 13 grandchildren, Robert (Rob) Wade Hunsaker (Gena), Lisa Marie Hunsaker, Gregrey (Greg) Hunsaker, Christian Marie Hunsaker (deceased), Tifani Hunsaker Fisher (Ron), Kimberly Hunsaker Crump (Justin), Raymond Dee Hunsaker Jr. (Stephanie), Jeremy Ray Floyd, Daniel (Danny) Lee Hunsaker (Lauren), Kristy Floyd Johnson (Ryan), Tricia Ann Hunsaker (Tyler), Stacey Lee Hunsaker, Ryan Rod Hunsaker; five great grandchildren, Thomas James Fisher, Hallie Rae Hunsaker, Daniel Mark Fisher, Kaylee Crump and Trey Johnson. Honorary children and grandchildren, Susie and Jennifer and Kathy, Michael, Matt and Nick.

Bob came from a large family, his brothers and sisters are: Mark (deceased), Rhea (Deceased), Jay (deceased), Carma, Russ, Irwin, Betty, Don, Max and Grant.

Bob was an avid motorcyclist, rode and enjoyed riding motorcycles from the age of 16 up until the end of his life...even courting his wife on a motorcycle. Bob, along with his wife, spent many years as a member of the Salt Lake City Motorcycle Club. They were instrumental in facilitating the Widow Maker Hill Climb and spent many years helping this sport to grow. He enjoyed spending time with his family boating, hunting and camping. The family enjoy many special moments at their family cabin in Bear lake, in addition to owning the Holiday Marina.

Bob was an active member of the Teamsters union for 40 years. He also owned Hunsaker Detective Patrol and Funeral Escort Service.

A special thanks goes to the caretakers at Harmony Hospice especially Angelo and Traci. A very special than you goes to my Danny.

Funeral services will be held Friday March 14, 2003 at 12:00 noon at the Cottonwood Stake Center where friends and family may call Thursday night from 6-8 p.m. and from 11-12 at the Stake center. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens 1950 E. 10600 S. Sandy, Utah.
