NEW YORK — Cher's farewell tour played so well on television she might want to consider another. The multicostumed singer and Oscar winner drew 16.6 million viewers to her two-hour NBC concert special, finishing among Nielsen's top 10 programs for the week.
CBS' "CSI," with 26.4 million viewers, was easily the week's most popular show. Coupled with Syracuse's victory over Kansas in the NCAA men's basketball final, seen by 18.6 million people, CBS won the week.
CBS averaged 11.5 million viewers. NBC was second with 10.7 million viewers, Fox had 8.9 million, ABC 7.2 million, UPN 3.2 million, the WB 3 million and Pax TV 1 million.
