6/15/20 ~ 4/24/03

Beth Allred passed away at home in Mt. Pleasant surrounded by her daughters on April 24, 2003 from cancer.

She was born June 15, 1920, in Mt. Pleasant, Utah to Wollerton Huffaker and Jane Hamilton Brinton. She married Royal N. Allred on May 17, 1943, in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death in December, 2002. Their three daughters are Barbara Ann (Ken) Richardson, Boise, Idaho; Mary Alice (Robert) Bench, Orem; and Kathryn, Orem. Their five grandchildren are Landon R. Bench, Tara Bench, Chandler R. Taylor, Taylor Royal Bench, and Troy M. Richardson.

She is survived by her brother, Reed Brinton, Salt Lake City, and sisters, Margaret Bench, Fairview; and Jane (Ed) Cox, Bountiful. Beth graduated from North Sanpete High School, Snow College, and Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She taught kindergarten and first grade in Utah schools for 35 years and was awarded Outstanding Teacher of the Year in 1958. She loved children and they loved her for the light she lit within them for learning.

She also taught first grade in Saudi Arabia for six years. She and her husband traveled the world together, and she rejoiced over the diversity and beauty she found in abundance everywhere. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served as Primary President, Young Women's President and Relief Society President at various times in her life. She served as an ordinance worker with her husband in the Manti Temple for eight years. Beth loved people and served them in loving, gracious ways. She cared lovingly for her husband, Royal, at home where he suffered from Alzheimer's disease for the last 15 of the nearly 60 years they spent together.
