Tani Lin Lowry Hunter, 25, passed away May 7, 2003.
Tani was born October 22, 1977 in Nephi, Utah, to Evan K. and Jackie B. Lowry. She grew up in Manti and Monticello, Utah. She attended Monticello High School, where she was active in Drama, Cheerleading, and Choir, but later graduated from Juab High School in Nephi, Utah.
During her sophomore year at Monticello High, she stole the heart of a young man whom she would eventually marry. Tani married Daniel Adam Hunter on November 20, 1999. They were later sealed in the Mount Timpanogos Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They lived in Springville, Cedar City, and Monticello Utah.
Tani loved people and served them throughout her life. She was a member of the LDS Church, had previously held callings in the nursery, and as a Sunday School Teacher. At the time of her death, she was serving as Secretary in the Relief Society Presidency.
Tani's greatest love in life were her two children, Aunika and Bowden. She is survived by her children, her husband Daniel, her father Evan, and her step-mother Tanya, all of Monticello; three sisters: Diana Trujillo (Ozzie), of Price, UT; Desiree Rhoades (Kevin), of Fillmore, UT; and Tara Pyne (Jay), of Tustin, CA. Also survived by her grandmother Betty Anderson, of Manti, UT; in-laws Dell and Dena Hunter, of Monticello; sister-in-law Stacy Turpin (Jeff), of Sandy; as well as four nieces and three nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother Jackie; her grandfathers, Clead Blackett, Gus Anderson, and Ches Lowry; and her grandmother Zelda Blackett.
Services were held Saturday, May 10, 2003 at the LDS Stake Center in Monticello, Utah. Interment was in the Monticello Cemetery.
Tani will be greatly missed.
