Lois Beth Peterson Jones was welcomed on May 6,2003, by her loved ones who had gone before.

Lois was born September 22, 1928 in Copperfield, Utah to Catherine Anderson and William G. Peterson. She was raised in Bingham Canyon where she loved the Oquirrh Mountains.

She married her soul mate, Bayles (Bud) Jones on June 5, 1948 and bore three children: Daniel (Joyce) Jones, Kristine Jones and Lisa Jones. She especially delighted in her grandchildren, Brittany and Jameson.

Lois loved children and became a devoted English teacher following Bud's death. Her passion was to positively influence the education and lives of thousands of Utah children.

Lois is survived by her children; grandchildren, Brittany (serving an LDS Mission in France) and Jameson (serving an LDS Mission in Portugal); sisters Maurine Daigneault, Nevada; Sharon (Bill) Heaps, Sandy; brother Gerald (Diane) Peterson, South Carolina; sisters-in-law Dorothy Peterson, Copperton and Marjean Peterson, Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, brothers James Peterson and John (Jack) Peterson.

The family wishes to thank Hospice for Utah for their tender care.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 9, 11 a.m. at the Winder Stake Center, 4366 South 1500 East, Salt Lake City. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Thursday May 8 from 6-8 p.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice for Utah.
