1941 ~ 2003
Dr. Robert Harman Anderson, our beloved husband, father, and grandpa, was taken from his family in a tragic car accident on July 12, 2003.
Robert was born on January 6, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Vernon Harman and Maxine Hardwick Anderson. After graduating from West High School in 1959, Bob served as an LDS missionary in the Brazil South Mission from 1960-63. He married LouAnn Jackson on March 22, 1965 in the Salt Lake LDS
Temple.
After completing his undergraduate work at the University of Utah, he received his Doctorate in Medical Dentistry from the University of Pennsylvania in 1969. Affectionately known to his patients as "Dr. Bob," he was a skillful and caring doctor for 34 years.
Bob loved helping people. He fulfilled many callings in the LDS church, including Gospel Doctrine teacher for 16 years, as well as serving as the first Bishop of the Murray 25th Ward. He loved to study, and had a great understanding of and love for the Savior. Dr. Bob's generous spirit and great capacity for giving was felt by all who knew him.
Grandpa cherished time with his family. He was happiest when we were all together. He loved Lake Powell, the cabin, and anywhere his wife, children and grandchildren were. Through his example and his life, he leaves with us a legacy of commitment, integrity, love and charity that will live on in his children and grandchildren. We are honored and blessed by the life he lived.
Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Maryl Jean Anderson McKnight. He is survived by his wife, LouAnn Jackson Anderson; children, AmiLi (Greg) Neff; Kristen (Gary) Glaittli; Matthew Vernon Anderson; Melissa (Aaron) Nelson; Eden (Brandon) Mathews; David Harman (Jill) Anderson; Suzie (Keltsey) Ware; Michael Richard Anderson (Mexico, Merida LDS Mission); 11 grandchildren; and 25 nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
