KSFI ("FM-100") and KXRK ("X-96") are the big winners in the latest Arbitron rating estimates for the fall of 2003.
"FM-100" finished well above second-place KSL in both the age 12-plus and adults ages 25-54 categories, while "X-96" edged ahead of runner-up KUBL in the 18-34 age group. KSFI also had a 5.6 percent share of women ages 25-54, almost triple that of the closest competition.
KUBL was third among age 12-plus listeners, while KODJ (FM-94.1) was fourth. KNRS (AM-570), KBER (FM-101.1) and KXRK tied for fifth in the 12-plus division. KUUU (FM-92.1) went from 20th place in the last book to 10th among listeners 12 and older.

RADIO CHANGES — KKAT (FM-101.9), which was recently purchased by Millcreek Broadcasting, has hired John Marks as its new program director. Marks, who was a KKAT DJ in the 1980s, helped mold the station into one of the market's top performers.
Marks has spent his past six years in Las Vegas at KWNR (FM-95.5) and is credited with taking that station from a 4.5 to a 10.5 percent share in the Aribtron ratings there.
Former KKAT morning star Richard Cano also confirmed Millcreek has been talking to him about a DJ spot. Cano currently works at a station in Medford, Ore.
— "Mary," part of KZHT (FM-97.1) "Z-Morning Zoo" show is leaving in February. Clear Channel is looking for someone to join "Frankie" and "Danger Boy."
RADIO HAPPENINGS — KBYU (FM-89.1) will rebroadcast a March 2, 1958, concert featuring the late Jussi Bjorling on Wednesday at 9 p.m. The concert was recorded when Bjorling was at the height of his career.
