DRAPER — The Utah Salt Ratz still can't figure out how to beat the Chico Rooks.
On the heels of a season in which they lost all three games against Chico, the Salt Ratz dropped a 1-0 decision Friday in their home opener at Juan Diego High School.
With the loss, Utah drops to 3-2 in the MPSL this season, while Chico improved to 3-1.
The Rooks' Donnie Ribaudo tallied the game's only goal in the 20th minute on an excellent shot in the box. Fourteen minutes later, Chico keeper Dominic Jakubek made a brilliant penalty kick save on a well-struck ball by Adam Acosta.
Utah returns to action Saturday at 8:30 p.m. with an exhibition game against the Utah State Select team. The Salt Ratz's next regular season game is Friday, May 14 at home against Albuquerque.
