The wife of Harry C. Stonecipher, who resigned as chief executive of the Boeing Co. last week after its board learned of his affair with a female executive at the company, has filed for divorce.
Donald Schiller, the lawyer for Joan Stonecipher, confirmed Sunday that she filed a petition on Thursday with the Cook County Circuit Court in Chicago, where Boeing is based.
Stonecipher stepped down as Boeing's chief executive one week ago after admitting a relationship with a Boeing executive. The board said Stonecipher, who was the architect of the company's ethics policy, had displayed poor judgment in the affair. The other executive, Debra Peabody, 48, a vice president in the company's Washington office, remains at Boeing.
The Stoneciphers celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Feb. 5. Both are 68 years old.
