Don Hendrickson and Justin Farr have joined Energy Strategies, a Salt Lake-based consulting firm serving large Western customers of electricity and natural gas. Hendrickson, a senior consultant for the firm, has extensive experience in energy analysis. Farr, a consultant, previously was involved with revenue forecasting for the Utah Governor's Office of Planning and Budget.
Katie Thompson has joined The Summit Group Communications, a Salt Lake-based advertising and public relations firm, as manager for new business development. Thompson recently worked as vice president of operations at a human resource development firm in Salt Lake City. She has 17 years of experience with top-level management of Fortune 200 companies in a consulting and training capacity.
Justin Jensen was promoted to chief financial officer of Wasatch Property Management's Wasatch Commercial Management division. Jensen will be responsible for more than 2 million square feet of high-end office and retail real estate throughout the West. He is a graduate of Utah State University.
The Salt Lake law firm of Winder & Haslam announced that David J. Weissman was named Of Counsel to the firm, and Dennis Flynn became an associate of the firm. Weissman specializes in the areas of personal injury, Social Security disability, workers' compensation and commercial litigation. He is a graduate of the Florida State University Law School. Flynn concentrates his law practice in the areas of commercial litigation, business law and insurance defense. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky Law School.
John Stalder has joined Big-D Construction as a senior estimator. Stalder has nine years of experience in the construction industry. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University.
America First Credit Union announced four staff changes. Connie Preece was named manager of the credit union's West Valley Harmons branch. Preece joined America First in 1990 as a teller. Most recently, she served as assistant manager of the Ogden Main branch. Blake Weathers was named manager of America First's indirect lending call center. Weathers was hired in 1985 as a courier in the credit union's purchasing department. Most recently, he was manager at the West Valley Harmons, Cottonwood and West Jordan branches. McKay Lindsay was named manager of the Orem Wal-Mart branch of America First. Lindsay was hired in 2001 as a teller and has been serving as assistant manager of the Orem Wal-Mart branch since late 2004. Aimee Webb was named new market manager of America First's West Jordan branch. Webb has been with the credit union for seven years, serving most recently as manager of the West Valley Harmons branch.
Jaren Davis, a broker with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage of Utah, has been elected to the board of directors of the National Association of Realtors. He will serve a three-year term. The NAR is the largest trade association in the country, representing more than 1 million members.
Architectural Nexus announced that Kent Hansen, the firm's information technology manager, was promoted to associate. Hansen joined Architectural Nexus in 2001. He has more than 13 years of technical experience.
Zions Bank has hired Cecilia Mitchell as business resource center director. Mitchell is responsible for establishing a central business resource center for businesses and coordinating information sources to help small businesses grow. She has nearly 30 years of banking experience and is a graduate of Westminster College.
Supplemental Health Care, a Park City-based health care staffing company, announced it has appointed Mary Ann McLaughlin as president of its local nursing division. McLaughlin has held senior roles in sales and marketing for more than 20 years and comes to Supplemental Health Care from a professional staffing firm in Georgia. She is a graduate of Bradley University.
Kelly IT Resources, a business unit of Kelly Services Inc., has appointed Michelle Grinberg as Western regional manager. Grinberg will be responsible for overseeing operations in eight markets, including the Salt Lake market. She will be based out of Beaverton, Ore., and is a graduate of Portland State University.
Jane Reister Conard, senior counsel for Intermountain Health Care in Salt Lake City, was re-elected to a second term on the board of directors of the American Health Lawyers Association. The association includes 9,500 members.
Datamark Inc., a Salt Lake-based strategic marketing company for post-secondary schools, announced the appointment of Rick Bentz as senior vice president of enrollment marketing. Bentz joined Datamark in 1991 and has more than 15 years of market research, advertising and marketing experience.
U.S. Bank has promoted Becki Mangus to treasury management sales consultant. Mangus works out of the bank's downtown Salt Lake branch and will be responsible for the sales of treasury management products and services for Utah and southeast Idaho. She has been with U.S. Bank for 16 years, most recently serving as sales associate in the treasury management department.
The Bank of American Fork announced that commercial real estate lender Darren Nate was promoted to vice president. Nate is a graduate of the University of Utah. Prior to joining Bank of American Fork in 2004, Nate supervised commercial real estate underwriting and was a lender in the residential builder finance group at another local bank.
The Western Electricity Coordinating Council, based in Salt Lake City, has hired Frank McElvain as manager of its Rocky Mountain/Desert Southwest Reliability Center. The center is located in Loveland, Colo.
