CEDAR CITY — Southern Utah's game at McNeese State on Saturday has been postponed indefinitely because of Hurricane Rita.

The schools were hoping to reschedule the Division I-AA game, Southern Utah sports information director Neil Gardner said.

Southern Utah and McNeese State both are scheduled to be off Oct. 8, so that is a possibility if the schools can agree on a place to play.

McNeese State is located in Lake Charles, La., which was directly in the path of the storm when it hit Saturday, and floodwaters were receding Monday.

This could be the third home game canceled for McNeese State because of a hurricane. The season opener against Southern University was called off after Hurricane Katrina, and last Saturday's home game against Northwest Oklahoma was canceled before Rita hit.
