Richard Lee Pulsipher 07/04/43 ~ 01/06/06 Richard Lee Pulsipher, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away Friday, January 6, 2006 at his home in Cottonwood Heights, Utah following a long battle with cancer that began in May of 2001. Richard was born July 4, 1943 in St. George, Utah the son of John Lewis Pulsipher, Jr. and Marian Lee Pulsipher. After spending his early years in St. George, Utah, and Boulder City, Nevada, Rich moved with his parents to Salt Lake City, where he lived for the remainder of his life. He was a graduate of Highland High School and the University of Utah, from which he received a BS degree in Business. In addition to military service in the U.S. Army Reserve, he served in Switzerland as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from March 1963 to October 1965. On June 28, 1968 he married Kathleen Simmons in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. For nearly 30 years he, with his brother, operated Consortium West, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in the planning and design of exhibits and interpretive media for visitor centers and museums, during which time he completed projects throughout the United States and as far away as Saudi Arabia. He was loved and respected by many clients and professional colleagues with whom he team-ed on a wide range of projects. Rich was an active and committed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life. In addition to his early service as a missionary to Switzerland, he served as a counselor in several bishoprics, a temple worker, and in a variety of different ward and stake positions, and was serving as Stake Young Men's president in the Salt Lake Wasatch Stake when he passed away. Rich had an engaging and outgoing personality and was a powerful example of Christian living to those with whom he worked and served. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; six children, Kirsten (Matt) Zundel, Richard Lin Pulsipher, Jonathan (Ro-shelle) Pulsipher, Erik (Cristin) Pulsipher, Lindsay Pulsipher, and Lesley Pulsipher; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Gerreld Lewis Pulsipher, John Douglas Pulsipher, and Joel Wilford Pulsipher; and two sisters, Sheryl Ellen Pulsipher and Marilyn Pulsipher Baird. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services for Rich will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2006, 12 noon at the Wasatch Fifth Ward, 8100 S. Top of the World Drive (3675 East), Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Friends may call Monday evening at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 S. 2300 East, Salt Lake City between the hours of 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 E. 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights.
