John J. Darman 1929 ~ 2006 John Darman, our beloved father and best friend, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2006. He was born October 11, 1929 in Wallace Idaho, son of John and Marie Darman. His love of life provided many adventures which included traveling, hunting, fishing and always - the outdoors. His love of people earned him many friends in numerous states who will miss his ready quick wit and sense of humor. We will always remember our long talks, his words of advice, and sharing of knowledge. He was a man of his word from the 'old school' who had strict principles, integrity, and honesty. He never failed to go out of his way to help those in need. John loved to play practical jokes and make people laugh. Life wasn't meant to be taken too seriously, but to enjoy every minute of. It was important to him to teach and help his grandchildren through his own trials and tribulations so they may have a better and easier life. His natural talent with wood led him into a successful career as a General Contractor and Master Craftsman. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Jean, sisters Marge Stephens and Helen Mink. He is survived by his brother Albert Horst, sister Shirley Suazo; his children Kathy Leonard, Kevin Darman, Kelly Slater, Aaron Darman; nine grand-children, three great-grandchildren; his special niece Frankie Foutz and his new wife Kay. Graveside services will be held at noon on Saturday Jan. 14, at Redwood Memorial Park (6500 South Redwood Road). In lieu of flowers our family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
