OAKLAND ATHLETICS—Agreed to terms with RHP Scott Dunn on a one-year contract. Purchased the contract of RHP Marcus McBeth from Midland of the Texas League. Agreed to terms with LHP Erasmo Ramirez, INF J.J. Furmaniak and OF Vince Faison on minor league contracts.

Purchased the contracts of LHP Evan MacLane, RHP Jailen Peguero, INF Brian Barden and INF Alberto Gonzalez from Tuscon of the PCL, INF Danny Richar and OF Carlos Gonzalez from Tennessee of the Southern League, and INF Emilio Bonifacio from Lancaster of the California League.
CHICAGO CUBS—Agreed to terms with INF-OF Alfonso Soriano on an eight-year contract. Purchased the contract of LHP Clayton Rapada from Iowa of the PCL and RHP Rocky Cherry from West Tenn of the Southern League.
