Shirley Anne Olson Hight 1925 ~ 2006 "Returned With Honor" On November 3, 2006, Shirley Anne Olson Hight, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her loved ones, and "Returned with Honor" to her Heavenly Father and the love of her life, Wallace Earl Hight. She was also greeted by many loved ones who had gone before to prepare a beautiful place for her. Shirley was born December 6, 1925 in San Francisco, CA, the only child of Henry L. and Elsie A. Olson. She grew up in Minnesota and California. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At the tender age of 15, she took one look at a young serviceman, Wally Hight, who sang with a group of young LDS men called the 'The Mormon Men of Moffett', and fell head over heels in love. They were sealed for time and all eternity July 15, 1942, in the Logan LDS Temple, and their reception was held in Farmington, UT. Their oldest daughter Karen was born in Arizona, followed by their second child Sharon, who died in infancy. They moved to California and were blessed with three more children, Linda, Candy and Gary. Shirley's heart's desire was to move to Utah, where their last child, Shelley, was born. Shirley was active in the LDS church and served faithfully in all her callings. She was the embodiment of compassionate service. Her husband, Wallace Earl Hight, passed away October 15, 1988. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Wilson, Fruitland, ID; Linda Wangsgard, Ogden; Candy Dobbs, Farmington; Gary Hight, Las Vegas, NV; and Shelley Hight, Fruit Heights. She was a grandmother to 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grand-children. Her family will miss her dearly. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main. Friends and family may call Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.
