Andrew P. Nielsen "Don't Forget What I Told Ya!" MAGNA- Andrew Peter Nielsen died December 19, 2006 at home. Born December 8, 1921 to Anders Peter and May Catten Nielsen. He was raised and educated in Magna and worked for Kennecott for over 40 years. He married Helen Ellis on June 27, 1940. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; she passed away on May 9, 1991. He married Edna Patterson on Sept. 2, 1992 in the Mesa Temple; she passed away on June 29, 1999. Dad was a loving, compassionate and wise man. He had numerous talents including art, photography and music. He loved trains and building things for his children and grandchildren. He was a dedicated member of the LDS Church faithfully serving in several callings including Bishop and Patriarch. He worked in the Jordan River Temple for several years. He was a World War II veteran and enjoyed Wednesday morning breakfasts with friends who are also veterans, aka: "The Romeos". He recently retired as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cyprus Credit Union after 43 years of happy service. He frequently said that the three loves of his life were: family, church, and the credit union. He was also active in the Boy Scouts of America receiving the Silver Beaver Award. Dad is survived by his children, Janice, Kent (Donna), Mark (Cherie), Kieth (Joan), and Kathy (Keith); nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Eldon (Karen), Eric, and Frank (Valerie); and sister, Marilyn. Preceded in death by Helen; Edna; grandson, Bryan; brother, Norman; and sisters, Virginia and Anetha. Special thanks to Dr. Roy Gandolfi and FirstChoice Hospice and especially, Mindy. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday, December 23, 2006 at the Magna Central Stake Center, 8181 W. 3320 So.
