Obituary: Val H. Smith

Val H. Smith 2/2/54 ~ 2/6/06 BOUNTIFUL- Val Harrison Smith, beloved husband, father, papa, brother, and friend, passed away Monday, February 6, 2006 at age 52. He was born February 2, 1954, son of Kenneth and Genevieve Smith in Holladay, UT. Married Deborah Ann Bryan on March 8, 1977 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She survives. A graduate of BYU he served the LDS Church for two years in the Canada Montreal Mission. Currently he was serving as the gospel doctrine teacher in the Bountiful 23 Ward. By profession he was a technical writer. Survived by daughter Tricia Davis (Matt); sons James, Todd, and Jeffrey; granddaughter Olivia, all of Salt Lake City. Also surviving are sisters Vicki Flitton (Roy) Spokane, WA; and Kay Curtis (Alan) Denver, CO; and brothers Dale Smith (Sharon) Boston, MA; and George Smith of Vernal, UT. Viewing will be held Friday from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful and Saturday, from 10:30 - 11:45 a.m. at the Bountiful East Stake Center, 2150 S. 650 E, Bountiful. The funeral will follow at 12:00 noon.
