David R. Mons 1951 ~ 2006 David Russell Mons, beloved husband, father, Grandpa (Ba), brother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family March 25, 2006 after a year long courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 3, 1951 to LaVon and Emil Kurt Mons. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and father-in-law. Survived by his children, Jason (Heather), Todd (Jessica), Tyler (Robyn), Kari (Kevin) Croft, 10 1/2 grandchildren; and siblings. David married his sweetheart, Colleen Worthington, January 29, 1972, and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, January 26, 1973. She's a devoted woman who stayed by his side until the very end. Separated only by death but sealed for eternity. Dave was a craftsman who loved working with wood, and a perfectionist who found his calling as an accountant. He was very devoted to his family, friends, and work. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Dave valued work and education, and continued his education long into his adult life. He loved sports and the outdoors, and was a devoted U of U fan "Go Utes." His presence will be missed on the ski slope, the golf green, and in the stadium. Dave found meaning in life serving and loving others, and left this life being served by others and surrounded by those he loved. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Utah Cancer Specialists and those who touched his life in ways we don't even know. Funeral services will be held Wed-nesday March 29, 2006 (11 a.m.) at Jordan Oaks Stake Center, 8035 S. Leslie Dr. (3905 West). Viewing will be held Tuesday March 28, 2006 at 7-9 p.m. at the before mentioned address and the day of the service from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Mountain View Memorial Estates. Cannon Mortuary, funeral directors. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Huntsman Cancer Institute 2000 Circle of Hope, Salt Lake City, UT 84132 in memory of David R. Mons.
