SUNDANCE — James Redfield, author of the international best-seller "The Celestine Prophesy," will visit Sundance this week to discuss the book and host a screening of the upcoming film adaptation.

The Tree Room Author Series event gets under way with the book discussion and brunch at noon Saturday.

Redfield, the writer/producer of a film based on the book, will be joined by his wife, Salle, the film's executive producer; and director Armand Mastroianni.

"The Celestine Prophesy," published by Warner Books in 1994, spent three years on the New York Times best-seller list and was the top-selling book in the world for two years.

The story takes the reader on a journey to the rainforests of Peru, where an ancient manuscript, known as the Celestine Prophecy, has been discovered. A paradigm for spiritual discovery, the protagonist's journey leads him through nine insights of the prophecy whereby he uncovers life's true purpose and his own destiny.

At the author series event in Sundance's Tree Room, James and Salle Redfield will discuss the "The Celestine Prophecy" and present a special premiere of the film adaptation.

At 4:30 p.m., the film will be shown in the Sundance Screening Room, followed at 7:30 p.m. by a reception in the gallery.
