Who are the radio personalities with the most years on air in the Utah market?

Dan Jessop is No. 1 in longevity, with 38 years at a microphone in northern Utah.

He's the current KBZN/KLO operations director and program director, but he still does on-air fill-in for both stations and has a regular Saturday-morning shift on "The Breeze," simply because he enjoys broadcasting.

Jessop's radio career stretches back to 1968, when he started at Ogden's KBZN. He also worked at KCPX, KUMT, KBLQ, KVOG, "Magic 107.5" and others during his long career. One of his early on-air nicknames was "Chad O. Stevens."

Here are more longtime Salt Lake-area rankings:

— 36 years: "Country Joe" Flint at "Country Legends," KKAT, FM-107.5. He worked at KSOP for more than 35 years before branching out.

— 36 years: Doug Wright of KSL, started in 1970 at KDYL. Today he's a backbone of

AM-1160/FM-102.7 and is also regularly heard in TV and radio commercials.

— 27 years: Jon Carter of KRSP started at KLO in 1979. He began at KRSP in 1980 and eventually went to other stations before returning to FM-103.5 in April 1997.

— 27 years: Dan Bammes of KUER, started at KRSP in 1979 and worked at KSL and other stations. Even a serious illness didn't deter his passion for being a radio news anchor.
