MAPLETON — Mapleton city's annual 24th of July celebration will have a dynamic new addition this year thanks to the donation of one of its residents.
The city will cap its celebration Monday night with a professional fireworks show, which is being underwritten by Mapleton resident Dr. Brian Trapnell.
The show is scheduled to begin at dusk at Ira Allan Park.

Other events Monday include a breakfast in the park from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. (cost of $3 per person) and a parade at 9 a.m.
