Dale Lee Reese 1924 ~ 2006 Dale L. Reese, 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully, from natural causes, surrounded by his family, Monday, August 14, 2006 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was active and enjoyed working until his passing. Dale was born to Andrew Lee Reese and Jessie Fitzgerald Stewart in Logan, Utah, on June 5, 1924. He served honorably in Patton's Third Army in World War II. Dale received a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Utah State University and a Masters Degree in Retail Merchandising from New York University. Dale married his sweetheart, Marian Nielsen, on September 18, 1953, in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. They have six children and 25 grandchildren. Dale was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life. He served faithfully in the Church as Bishop of the Ogden 44th Ward and in many other positions. His faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and the restored gospel sustained him throughout his life. Dale loved his family and derived great satisfaction in watching them use and increase their God-given gifts and abilities. Dale, an accomplished entrepreneur, founded many businesses, including, Standard Plumbing Supply Company, Standard Plastics Company Standard Transportation, Inc. Standard Pipe Nipple Manufacturing Company, Reese Real Estate and Investment Company, Dale Reese Truck Equipment, and Reese Finance Company. Many of these businesses continue today and are a blessing to his posterity and multitudes of others, providing services and honorable employment. Dale received many awards for his business innovations including: Wholesaler of the Year from Supply House Times Magazine in 1974 and the Distinguished Alumnus award from Utah State University College of Business in 2003. He is survived by his wife Marian, sons David (Kari), Dennis (Janie), and Richard (Jill), and daughters Karen Young (Michael), Marilee Rawlings (David), Nancy Wood (David), and 25 grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Elaine Farmer (Kelly). Dale was preceded in death by his parents and Sister, Beth Hovey. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 18, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the Parley's 6th Ward, 2350 South 2100 East, Salt Lake City. Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 17 from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 1300 South 2350 East in Salt Lake and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the ward prior to the funeral service. Interment Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Perpetual Education Fund, 50 East North Temple, 8th Floor, Salt Lake City, Utah 84150-1501.
