Obituary: Vea Arlene Sabey Valdez

Vea Arlene Sabey Valdez 3/13/1946 ~ 1/4/2007 Vea Arlene Sabey Valdez passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, January 4, 2007. She was born March 13, 1946 to Leo Fox Sabey and Norma Vea Oviatt. She married her best friend and soul mate, Raymond C. Valdez, September 24, 1965. Arlene graduated from Hillcrest High School. She loved life and pretty much everything in it. She loved the long weekends that she and her husband spent alone at their cabin in Fruitland, Utah. She loved to read, cook, bake and play with her grandchildren. She fought a battle with cancer, but she was always very optimistic and brave, and she never let her faith fail. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Valdez; three children, Victoria (Richard) Moreno, Coos Bay, Oregon, R. Benjamin (Mary) Valdez, Riverton, Utah, Sara Valdez, Midvale, Utah; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; mother, Vea Sabey; brother, Richard (Linda) Sabey; and sister, Patricia Sabey; along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Leo Sabey. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday January 10th at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the Mortuary, and one hour prior to services.
