UTAH STATE PRISON — A man who fired on a crowd of people outside an amusement center in 2003 will not be granted parole until at least 2016.

The Utah Board of Pardons and Parole said David Van, 19, will have at least one more rehearing in April 2016, when the board will consider if he should be released from prison.

In 2003, Van opened fire outside the Utah Fun Dome and injured six people. During his parole hearing in March, Van said he was looking for rival gang members. Van was sentenced to prison time for attempted murder and aggravated assault.
