Tyson Yellowbear, 22, who has been convicted of two felonies and was due to be sentenced on Monday, did not appear in court.

As a result, 3rd District Judge William Barrett issued a $50,000 bench warrant for Yellowbear's arrest.

In April, Yellowbear pleaded guilty to amended counts of criminal homicide by assault and aggravated assault, both third-degree felonies, as part of a plea bargain.

He was charged in connection with a South Salt Lake altercation that occurred March 25, 2006. He later admitted he was guilty of fatally shooting Danny Brown Tapuaialupe in the chest and shooting another man, who survived, in the head.
