Christopher Wood Jessop
Our beloved and choice son, Christopher Wood Jessop, age 30, passed away with his two sweet little angels into their Heavenly Father's arms Wednesday morning August 2, 2007."Chris" was a good family man, loving and conscientious father, loyal and generous son and sibling. We will miss him more than earthly words can possibly express. Chris was a handsome, gifted and generous man of courage and integrity. He never shirked his duties as a father, son, brother, employee, and human being. He made himself available to help his little family, his wife's niece and sister in law, his parents, and extended family at every turn, though he lived in Dugway. Chris tried to see good in everyone, filled his heart with the best of intentions, hope for his babies brightest future, tenderness, sensitivity, and a gifted creative spirit with a thirst for knowledge and truth. He provided his children with every technical advantage possible to stimulate their growing minds. He refused to speak ill of others and tried in the best way he knew to make life with his family a success.
His beautiful strawberry blond son, James Ashton, always had an infectious smile and was so bright he could read adult writing and label family pictures on the computer. Chris was constantly searching for ways to stimulate this little boy's hungry mind. Mariah, his sweet baby girl, loved cuddles, art, and princesses. She was a true princess.
Chris was born May 10, 1977 in Sheridan, Wyoming and was a joy to his family during his growing up years in Kearns and West Valley Utah. Our Chris demonstrated many gifts at a very early age in music, art, writing, computer skills, scouting, hiking, photography, leadership, good judgment, and his love for the outdoors, especially Southern Utah. In scouting, Chris assisted his dad and on his own prepared the other boys in the troop for their 50 mile hikes. He won many singing awards with his little sister, DelAnne Jessop.
He attended Kennedy Junior High and graduated from Hunter High School and during lunch time, he loved to go play his own original compositions on the grand piano at the stage. Throughout junior and senior high school he participated in the percussion section of the band which won several state honors. He also loved to "Jam" on his drums with his brothers, Jaromy and Kelly, both on guitar and bass, while friend, Mark Mau Mau, sang.
In June 1996, Chris (19) married his high school sweetheart, Mary Jane Quinney (18). They shared love of music, nature, planning hikes, camps, and trips to Southern Utah, especially to Bryce Canyon with its stunning solitude and contrasting red rock and snow in winter. They dearly loved sharing these experiences with their children and making holidays times of joy for them.
As a married man, Chris first worked for Geneva Rock. Then he put himself through CCI earning an associate degree in computer technology.
He worked at home for Ebay three years as a quality assurance technician and then moved to Dugway where he worked as a computer operator in test support for Mellor Engineering.
His recent desire was to move his family back to West Jordan as soon as possible to provide them more opportunities. Finally, on a daily basis, After working all day and performing his duties at home, he spent late evening hours pursing his BS in Computer Science through the University of Phoenix where he had achieved a 3.5 grade point average.
Chris is survived by his wife, Mary Quinney Jessop; parents, Dellane G. and Diane J. Jessop; Melanie D. Menlove, Kelly W. Jessop, Jaromy D. Jessop, DelAnne V. Jessop; and grandparents, June Brady Jensen, Dowayne Delmont Jessop and Valaine Anna Jessop; plus many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved and respected Chris.
Chris' life can be summed up in three words, love, courage, integrity. He was and will always be the center and heartbeat of our lives.
We express sincere gratitude to our friends and family for their support and love.
