Kenneth Robert Howard

Kenneth Robert Howard passed away peacefully in his sleep August 30, 2007 surrounded by his loving family. Kenneth was born September 27, 1923 to Robert A. Howard and Clara L. Christensen Howard in Holladay, UT. In World War II he served with the 846th railway operating Battalion in the European theater of operations. His military occupational assignments were boilermaker and yardmaster, also motor pool Sergeant. He served in France and Germany and was decorated several times and also holds a good conduct metal. He married Dolores (Dolly) E. Wilkinson on September 16, 1948 at the Old Mill in Cottonwood Heights formerly known as Butlerville, UT, and they were later sealed to each other in the Salt Lake Temple. Ken is a member of the LDS church and has enjoyed different callings. They loved to travel a lot and one of their favorite places was Yellowstone Park. Later Ken became a truck driver; he then went on to start his own trucking company called Ken's truck service which he loved and also went on to start his own truck repair shop known as Ken's truck service and repair. He also started a filter shop that became very successful for heavy equipment air filters and was known as Filter Rebuilders Inc. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke and tease. He was loved by his employees and customers.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dolly, his two sons: Kary and Kelly and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing for all of his friends and family members at the Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 S. Highland Drive, Wed., September 5, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. and also one hour prior to Funeral Services on Thurs., September 6, 2007 at Noon at the Holladay 18th Ward, 2625 Milo Way (4910 South).
Ken will be laid to rest for all eternity at the Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 Memory Lane, where he will receive military honors and blessing of the grave.
