Where to go and what to know about recycling a Christmas tree (no light cords, decorations or twine can be left on trees):

• Alta: 10380 E. Highway 210, Christmas trees may be dropped off on the west side of the beige-colored trailer, Dec. 26-Jan. 15.

• Bluffdale: Trans-Jordan Landfill, 10873 S. 7200 West, will accept and recycle trees from residents at no charge. Fee charged for flocked trees, trees in plastic bags or if part of a mixed load.

• Copperton: County sanitation crews will collect trees at the curb on regular garbage collection days Dec. 26-Jan. 31.

• Draper: Trees will be collected at Draper Public Works, 4501 Minute Man/East Frontage Road, Dec. 26-Jan. 15.

• Herriman: County sanitation crews will collect trees at the curb on regular garbage collection days Dec. 26-Jan. 31.

• Midvale: City crews will collect trees at the curb on regular garbage collection days Dec. 26-Jan. 9.

• Murray: Trees will be collected at the following places; Grant Park, 6150 S. Main; Murray City Park, 5100 S. State, adjacent to the Murray Park Center, enter from 330 East and Vine Street, Dec. 26-Jan. 12.

• Riverton: Trees will be collected at the following drop-off sites; Riverton Centennial Park, 13100 S. 2700 West; Riverton Rodeo Park, 12800 S. 1300 West; and Monarch Park, 13550 S. Monarch Park Way; Dec. 26-Jan. 31.

• Unincorporated Salt Lake County, Canyon Rim, White City and Millcreek: County sanitation crews will collect trees at the curb on regular garbage collection days Dec. 26-Jan. 31.

• Holladay, Cottonwood Heights and Mt. Olympus Cove: County sanitation crews will collect trees at the curb on regular garbage collection days Dec. 26-Jan. 31.

• Taylorsville, Kearns, Magna and Emigration: County sanitation crews will collect trees at the curb on regular garbage collection days Dec. 26-Jan. 31.

• Salt Lake City: City street crews will collect trees at the curb on the following schedule: Area 1 (south of 1300 South, east of State Street) Jan. 5-8; Area 2 (north of 1300 South, east of State) Jan. 9-14; Area 3 (west of State), Jan. 15-21. Please put trees on park strip no later than 7 a.m. on the first day of pickup. Do not take trees to any city parks.

• Salt Lake Valley Solid Waste Management Facility landfill, 6030 W. California Ave. at 1400 South, accepts trees from county residents at no charge. Fee charged for flocked trees, trees in plastic bags or in mixed loads. Trees must be covered and secured. Deliver between Dec. 26-Jan. 31.

• Sandy: Trees will be collected at the following sites: Parks and cemetery shop, 9120 S. 700 East; Storm Mountain Park 11400 S. 1000 East; Flat Iron Mesa Park, 8600 S. 1700 East; Highpoint Park, 7800 S. 1000 East; Crescent Park, 11000 S. 230 East; Buttercup Park 10075 S. 1550 East; Bell Canyon Park, 11400 S. 1700 East; Dec. 26-Jan. 12.

• South Salt Lake: City crews will pick up trees at the curb Dec. 26-Jan. 11.

• South Jordan: City crews will pick up trees at the curb on Jan. 5, 6, 15 and 16. Trees must be at the curb no later than 6 a.m. on the specified dates.
