AUSTELL, Ga. — Authorities are investigating a death at the Six Flags Over Georgia amusement park where a person has apparently been decapitated.

Media reports say that the accident took place at 2:30 p.m.

Authorities tell various media outlets that a group of young people jumped over a fence near the theme park's Batman ride. The ride was in motion and struck and killed one of the teens, 17.

CNN reports the victim scaled two 6-foot fences and went into a restricted around the Batman roller coaster. Some witnesses said the teen was trying to retrieve something he'd lost. Others reported he was trying to touch the ride.
