Question: Mark Harmon stars on "NCIS," which is great. Please let me know what other series he has been on. My husband and I can't remember.

Answer: Harmon, solid and unpretentious as an actor and as a man, has worked steadily in films and TV. His previous television series credits include "Chicago Hope," "St. Elsewhere," "Flamingo Road," "Reasonable Doubts," "Charlie Grace" and brief turns on "The West Wing" and "Moonlighting."

Question:I'm trying to recall a TV movie that Lucille Ball did, where she was a homeless bag lady. Can't recall the title. Is it on DVD?

Answer: You are probably thinking of "Stone Pillow," a 1985 TV-movie starring Ball. It was released on DVD a few years ago and is still available. If your local DVD retailer cannot get it, try Amazon.com, Moviesunlimited.com or Deepdiscount.com.

Question: Recently I watched the 1980s miniseries "North and South" and I was impressed with James Read, who played the part of George Hazard. What can you tell me about his career in the years since "North and South"? What movies has he made? Is he still acting?

Answer: Read played George Hazard in the two sequels to "North and South" and has been a frequent presence in TV movies and series. He has had recurring roles on "American Dreams," "Charmed" and "Wildfire." By the way, he has been married for 20 years to Wendy Kilbourne, whom he met when she played his wife in "North and South."

Question:I was wondering if there is a DVD or tape of an old black-and-white TV show, I believe it was titled "The Millionaire"? There is no connection with the current game show. This involved a gentleman giving various individuals a certified check for $1,000,000 and then how it affected their lives for good or bad. Not sure if it was a series, but I know there were several episodes. Would appreciate any information you could find.

Answer: "The Millionaire" originally aired on CBS from 1955 to 1960. It starred Marvin Miller as Michael Anthony, an aide to the wealthy and mysterious John Beresford Tipton. Each week, Tipton had Anthony present a $1,000,000 check to someone.

I do not know of an authorized DVD release of episodes of the series. If you do an online search for "The Millionaire DVD," you will get links to quite a few sites peddling old episodes. But I cannot vouch for those sites, or the source or quality of Amazon.com, Moviesunlimited.com or Deepdiscount.com.
