Although no new leaders were added to the Quorums of the Seventy during the Saturday afternoon session of general conference, 13 quorum members were released as Mormon general authorities.Four members of the First Quorum of the Seventy were released and given emeritus status, and nine members of the Second Quorum of the Seventy were released.Members of the First Quorum of the Seventy released were Elder Charles Didier, Elder John M. Madsen, Elder Lynn A. Mickelsen and Elder Dennis B. Neuenschwander.Members of the Second Quorum of the Seventy released were Elder Douglas L. Callister, Elder Shirley D. Christensen, Elder James M. Dunn, Elder Daryl H. Garn, Elder Clate W. Mask Jr., Elder Robert C. Oaks, Elder William W. Parmley, Elder W. Douglas Shumway and Elder Robert S. WoodSix of the brethren released have been given other assignments throughout the world:Elder Callister and his wife, Jeannette M. Callister, are serving as president and matron of the Bountiful Utah Temple; Elder Garn and his wife, Irene H. Garn, are serving as president and matron of the Mesa Arizona Temple; Elder Mask and his wife, Paula C. Mask, are serving as president and matron of the Guatemala City Guatemala Temple; Elder Parmley and his wife, Shanna N. Parmley, are serving as president and matron of the Sacramento California Temple; Elder Shumway and his wife, Dixie A. Shumway, are serving as president and matron of the Albuquerque New Mexico Temple; and Elder Wood and his wife, Dixie J. Wood, are serving as president and matron of the Boston Massachusetts Temple.
