Oklahoma City pitcher Luis Mendoza tossed a no-hitter to lead the Redhawks to a 5-0 win over the Salt Lake Bees on Friday night.

Mendoza (6-4) opened the ninth inning by getting Chris Pettit to fly out to right field. After Sean Rodriguez was hit by a pitch, Matt Brown sent a fly ball to deep right that was run down by Brandon Boggs for the second out. Mendoza walked Brandon Wood before he got Bobby Wilson to ground out to second to end the game. Mendoza threw 125 pitches, as he struck out six and walked six.

The closest the Bees came to a hit took place in the fifth inning. Brad Coon laid down a bunt to the right side of the infield. Second baseman Jose Vallejo, in one motion, scooped up the ball with his glove and shoveled it to first to nip Coon. Dan Denham (9-8) took the loss, as he allowed five runs, four earned, on six hits with four walks and no strikeouts.
