LOGAN — Divers Thursday recovered the body of a man believed to have drowned in Tony Grove Lake in Logan Canyon.

The body was recovered by a search and rescue dive team about 10:40 a.m., according to the Cache County Sheriff's Office. The individual's name is not being released until family members are notified.

A 20-year-old man on Wednesday had been swimming with friends, and two of them men tried to swim across the lake but grew tired part way across. The 20-year-old went under, and various people at the scene were unable to find him and get him out of the water.

Police arrived at 3:50 p.m. and began searching. The man had been missing for about 40 minutes by the time officers were contacted.

After several hours of searching, the rescue efforts were stopped once it got too dark. The search resumed Wednesday morning.
