SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City Police Chief Chris Burbank received the YWCA's 2010 Public Official of the Year Award.

The YWCA called Burbank a leader in expanding services and programs for victims of domestic violence, specifically women and their families.

The award coincides with the YWCA's annual Week Without Violence campaign.

Burbank said he has a great deal of respect for the YWCA and they work they do, which is why the award means something to him.

"I'm very honored to receive it," he said.

A group of Cub Scouts presented the chief with his award during a breakfast Wednesday morning at The Episcopal Church Center of Utah.
