SALT LAKE CITY — Spanish-speaking Utah Jazz fans got some buena noticia for the 2010-11 season.

That good news: For the first time in franchise history, regular season games, playoffs and three home preseason games will be broadcast in Spanish on AM 1600 ESPN Deportes.

The Jazz announced their new partnership with Adelante Media Group (formerly Bustos Media) this afternoon. The inaugural broadcast will be tonight at 7 when the Portland Trail Blazers visit EnergySolutions Arena.

"The Jazz has a large number of fans in the Wasatch Front's Hispanic community," said Chris Baum, the Jazz's senior vice president of broadcasting, "and we hope that providing the opportunity to listen to our games in Spanish will help continue to build that support."

Fernando Hortal (play-by-play) and Nelson Moran (analyst) will handle the broadcasting duties. Dan Clayton will join the pair for sideline reporting at home games. Local listeners might recognize Hortal and Moran from their Spanish broadcasts of Real Salt Lake.

"The Jazz have recognized the importance of reaching the fastest growing segment of the Salt Lake area population, Hispanics, and we're honored that Adelante Media and ESPN Deportes have been chosen as their partner."

English radio broadcasts of Jazz games will be on 1320 AM/B98.7 FM, with calls provided by play-by-play announcer David Locke and analyst Ron Boone.
