Conference Sunday falls on

Easter, providing a topical backdrop for the spiritual feast.

Christ's sacrifice and resurrection are

often the centerpiece of many messages, and this year the resurrection

will undoubtedly be discussed.

This will be the first time since 1999

that Mormon general conference is held on Easter Sunday, but historically the

occurrence is not uncommon. It's happened 25 times since 1901, with

another overlap likely to happen in 2015.

Palm Sunday commemorates Christ's

triumphal entry into Jerusalem and is celebrated the Sunday before

Easter Sunday. Conference Sunday and Palm Sunday have been on the same

day 19 times since 1903, with future occurrences in 2012 and 2020.
