Joyce Isaacson Tribe died peacefully at her home on Monday, April 26, 2010.She was born November 19, 1923 in Logan, Utah to Thorpe B. Isaacson and Lula Jones Isaacson.
Joyce was a woman of perfection, dignity, and grace. She was raised in Salt Lake City and attended Uintah Elementary, Roosevelt Jr. High, and East High School. She graduated from the University of Utah, where she served as president of her 1945 class. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.
Following graduation, Joyce met Royal L. Tribe of Ogden, Utah. They were married in 1946 in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple, by David O. MacKay. They celebrated their 64th anniversary in March.
In addition to her husband, Joyce is survived by their daughter, Rebecca, and son, Royal Tribe III (Bodie), wife, Anne; grandchildren: Matthew, Tara Tribe Meade (Alex). She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard A. Isaacson.
Joyce loved music. She was an excellent pianist. She enjoyed attending concerts and musicals. She and her husband traveled extensively and she had the gift of remembering every detail.
Joyce served in a variety of church callings and was active in both the Red Cross and Jr. League. She was a member of Town Club. She was a
real sports enthusiast and her loyalty to the Jazz, the Utes, and any and all baseball teams, was legendary. Joyce was proud to be a member of the "Darling Girls," a group of friends who have known each other for more than 50 years.
As per her request, there will be no funeral. A private graveside service will be held Friday, April 30, in the Salt Lake Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the care-givers, Debi Poulsen and Colleen Ragdon, who assisted Joyce during her illness. Donations may be made to the University of Utah Museum of Fine Arts or the charity of your choice.
