SANDY — Real Salt Lake defender Jamison Olave received his U.S. Green Card this week, and the Colombian native will no longer occupy an international roster slot for RSL effective immediately.

The Green Card grants Olave permanent resident status in the United States. Olave has been a dominant force for RSL during his three years with the club, and he recently was named to his first MLS All-Star Team.

"We want to congratulate Jamison on this important step towards making Utah his long-term home," said RSL general manager Garth Lagerwey in a press release statement. "From a club standpoint, this allus us more flexibility to acquire a player we feel fits into our roster as we push for a second straight MLS Cup and begin play in the upcoming CONCACAF Champions League."

RSL's other four international roster slots are occupied by three Argentines, Fabian Espindola, Nelson Gonzalez and Javier Morales, and Costa Rica's Alvaro Saborio.
