Billye Virginia Olsen Jenkins1926 ~ 2011Billye Virginia Olsen Jenkins passed away on December 1, 2011, at Valli Hi Angus Ranch, her home for the past 50 years. She was just 85 years young.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the Farmway LDS chapel, in Caldwell, Idaho, under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com. Billye was born January 21, 1926, to William and Pearl Olsen in Salt Lake City, Utah (LDS Hospital). Her parents were in the Rambouillet Sheep business, a business known worldwide. She was raised in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, attending Middle School through High School at Wasatch Academy. She spent the next year at Brigham Young University before attending the University of Utah, where she majored in clothing design and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She met and married Edward G. "Jerry" Jenkins while at the University of Utah. She and Jerry eventually moved to Hawaii where they raised their six children. Billye served as a primary worker and Relief Society President while Jerry acted as a Bishop. She was active in Junior League, loved to play golf and tennis. She moved to Nampa, Idaho, in 1962 where she and her husband were involved in real estate and ranching. Billye was Idaho's Top Agent for several years, serving also as Broker at All American Realty. Billye loved traveling and made various trips throughout the world. After retiring, Billye spent the rest of her life enjoying her six children: Jennifer J. Christensen, Jessica J. Gooley and Jamie J. Wilson all of Salt Lake City, Utah; Jerilyn J. Briten, William Edward Jenkins and Robert Olsen Jenkins all of Caldwell, Idaho; and, her 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.Billye was blessed with good health most of her life. In 2007, Billye suffered a massive stroke. Though she needed care for the last four years Billye was able still to listen, ponder and without words give her love, unconditional acceptance and encouragement. A gentle pat on your hand, eye-to-eye understanding and her quiet smile were expressions of her love.Billye left behind in her desk a random sheet of ruled paper with these words she wrote earlier in her life: Feel the presence of someone who can reach gently into our own lives Learning to share things is the heart of life. Respect each other's individuality. Friends are always freeing each other for a richer taste of existence It is only when they make too many claims or try to control each other that they kill friendship with the poison of jealousy and envy. People remain friends by giving each other away rather than clasping each other too tightly it dies of barter, manipulation and demands but it thrives when people give it away freely. It is better to have loved and discovered how hard it is to keep on loving than never to have loved at all. Choosing people rather than fame. Letting go. Tender are feelings. Let me walk my path alone. Say good-bye to me. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jerry; her daughters Jennifer, Jessica (& Bill Gooley), Jerilyn (& Tom Briten) and Jamie; her sons Bill (& Candy) and Bob (& Kelli); her beloved grandchildren Cutler Christensen, Anna Temkin and Lily Christensen; Christopher Gooley, Paige Holland and Sean Gooley; Greg Ferney, Mariah Hopp, Brooke Parent, Ben Briten and Abby Briten; Chelsea DeFriez, Jeremiah Jenkins, Rebecca Daniel, Katie Jenkins and Ethan Jenkins; Kendel Jenkins, Kylee Jenkins and Bo Jenkins; and, Billye Wilson; 18 Great Grandchildren; and, her siblings Carlyle Morris and John K. Olsen, both of Utah. With much gratitude and love, the entire Jenkins' family gives thanks to the wonderful ladies who loved and cared for Billye at her home: Amy Elliott, Minela Kostjervac, Billee Peterman and Andrea Castellanoz. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints General Missionary Fund would be welcomed. Please send donations to: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Caldwell 11th Ward, c/o Bishop David Tidwell, 15522 Orchard Avenue, Caldwell, Idaho 83607.And I soon go to the place of my rest, which is with my Redeemer; for I know that in him I shall rest. And I rejoice in the day when my mortal shall put on immortality, and shall stand before him; then shall I see his face with pleasure, and he will say unto me; Come unto me, ye blessed, there is a place prepared for you in the mansions of my Father. Amen Enos 1:27
