SALT LAKE CITY — A student and coach from Rowland Hall are in serious but non-life threatening condition after a head on collision in Oregon Saturday.

A vehicle carrying five high-schoolers of the schools ski academy and one their coaches was hit while making a trip from Mt. Hood Meadows to their hotel, according to a press release from the academy. The student in serious condition was sitting behind the coach — who was driving — at the time of the collision, the release states. They were life flighted to Portland Oregon.

The other four passengers sustained minor injuries and returned to Salt Lake City Sunday.

The coach was not cited in the accident, according to an email from Susan Koles, Rowland Hall's director of marketing. Koles stated the school will not release the identities or medical conditions of the coach or students to protect their privacy.
